Why I love this wedding photo - disco dancing at Tewinbury Farm

tewinbury-farm-wedding-photography-sophie-david-01.jpg

Party time at any wedding is always my favourite, by that point in the day everybody is nice and relaxed and has by and large forgotten that I am even there, so plenty of opportunities to get great party photos. I like to set my lights up and freeze the action, and this shot of one of the flower girls dancing with the bride works , as the flashlight has just caught her face as she is grinning, and with a darker background it really stands out. The Tythe Barn at Tewinbury Farm is a really great space for shooting these type of wedding photos, as the high barn ceiling allows the flashes to be placed up. Wedding photography at County Hall, Hertford - Veronika & Adrian

Winter weddings are always great, good atmosphere, incredible light - and we got both at Veronika & Adrian’s County Hall wedding in December of 2019 in Hertford.

The couple booked me for an intimate ceremony with very close family and friends, and it was a real pleasure to photograph the day for them.

Veronika chose a floral print dress rather than traditional white, and it looked awesome! I love it when couples break from tradition and stamp their own style of the wedding day!

Here are a few photos of the Veronika and Adrian’s Castle Hall wedding.

Wedding photography at Milling Barn - Rachel & Jordan

Rachel & Jordan got married at Milling Barn in the summer of 2019 and I was thrilled to be asked to document their day! It was my first visit to Milling Barn for a while and as such I got chance to check out their newly revamped rooms where the bridal party was getting ready. The team at Milling Barn really have done a great job with these rooms as you can see in the images!

Rachel got ready with her three bridesmaids, and was later joined by her young daughter. It was a very relaxed morning and I managed to get some nice images of the room decorations and flowers by Linda Marshall.

Onto the ceremony and Jordan and the boys looked spotless as they waited for the bridal party to arrive. An intimate ceremony provided opportunity for some strong images, especially as the newly married couple exited the room. We then shot the confetti and found time for some couple portraits and family groups.

The speeches and wedding breakfast followed, with some A-grade magical entertainment from magician Dean Jorgensen, a very talented chap and highly recommended!

More guests arrived for the evening and a wonderful night was had by all. Milling Barn has a fantastic archway as you enter the venue and I used this to create some nighttime portraits for Rachel and Jordan, as well as shoot their sparkler run with all their guests.

If you a looking for a Milling Barn wedding photographer please do drop me a message and we have a natter about your wedding day!

Here are a few photos from Rachel and Jordan’s wonderful wedding.

Wedding photography at Down Hall Hotel - Shanice and Mark

Shanice and Mark asked me to be their wedding photographer for their wedding at Down Hall Hotel in Essex in July 2019, and despite the weather being quite wet we got some absolutely stunning images for the couple, which just goes to show that no matter the weather, a quality wedding photographer will always get you great images!

Shanice and her bridesmaids got ready in the bridal suite at Down Hall, while Mark and the boys also had a room a couple of floors down, so I was able to shoot both sides of the preparation on this occasion.

After everyone was ready we made our way to the ceremony room, a fantastic space with a high ceiling and plenty of light flowing in. A very emotional ceremony took place, and more than a few tears were shed.

Straight after the ceremony a break in the weather meant drinks and canapes were taken in the grounds of Down Hall and the break also just gave me time to shoot the family groups.

The wedding breakfast took place in the main room at Down Hall and looked wonderful. Speeches and food followed, the the team from Love Light Entertainment set the room up for the evening entertainment.

Cake, first dance and then a huge party were the order of the evening!

Take a look at some images below and if you are in need of a Down Hall Hotel wedding photographer, drop me a message!

Wedding photography at Hertford Castle - Mary and Kyle

Mary and Kyle got married back in July at Hertford Castle, with their reception at Cottered Hall in Hertfordshire. They booked me for their wedding photography, and it was a pleasure to join them on the day for their intimate wedding with close family and friends.

I actually photographed Mary’s sister Sally’s wedding a few years back so it was doubly nice to be recommended to Mary for her wedding photographs.

The bride and groom arrived at Hertford Castle and gathered in the ceremony room with has lovely large windows allowing plenty of light to flow in. After a short ceremony, the party moved into the conservatory at the Castle for drinks and canapes, and I took them out in front of the castle for a few family groups. One of the best things of having your wedding at Hertford Castle in the almost endless photo opportunities around the castle grounds.

We then moved up the A10 to Cottered Hall, which had been expertly decorated by Mary the day before, and it was truly a fantastic transformation. Further guests arrived and I photographed the cake cut and first dance. Shortly after I nipped outside and noticed the most amazing sunset happening, so I quickly whisked the couple out for some sun-drenched photos, which was a real bonus for them as it had been quite cloudy for most of the day!

See some images from the day below, and if you need a Hertford Castle wedding photographer please drop me a message!

Wedding photography at Coltsfoot Country Retreat - Laura and Mark

Laura and Mark chose me to be their wedding photographer at Coltsfoot Country Retreat in Hertfordshire in June of 2019. It was an extremely relaxed wedding and I had a blast photographing for them.

Laura got ready at Coltsfoot with her bridesmaids and daughter and this part of the day always makes for great images, everyone busily applying make up and trying (and usually failing) to hide their nerves! Once all the girls were ready we made our way down to the ceremony in the marquee at Coltsfoot.

I caught some wonderful moments during the ceremony, lots of smiles and a few happy tears. After the ceremony the couple and guests exited into the beautiful gardens at Coltsfoot for drinks and canapes.

Mark is a fireman and later in the day a surprise visit from his crew mates and a fire engine made for some incredible images. You certainly do not get one at every wedding that is for sure!

Into the evening, with music provided by the always awesome JN Sounds the couple and their daughter entered the room and had their first dance, followed by some partying late into the night.
